Back when I maintained an anti-war weblog, my sitetracker indicated I was getting daily visits originating from the domain "NIPR.mil", which I believe refers to the Naval Intelligence Publication Register. The hits came in early each morning, and tended to come in pairs -- ie two hits arriving within a few seconds of one another.
I never was sure whether I ought to have been flattered or creeped out by the regular attention. I suppose I felt a bit of both. So it was exciting to see the NIPR gang were back this morning... and paired up, just like old times.
Then again, the search string that brought the visitors in (and the undisguised domain) doesn't offer much support for the military surveillance scenario... In any event, I hope my guests weren't too disappointed by the lack of steaming dogshit pictures on this site. If stats and feedback indicate that this is what readers want, I'll head right out to the local leash-free dog park and get that digital camera working...
